Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. It describes how we handle data linked to you ("Personal Information") when you use the MediKinect application, its support, and any associated websites or software ("Services").
We are committed to protecting your information and keeping it secure.
We collect Personal Information as you sign up and use the MedKinect Services. Here is a list of data that may be collected and linked to you:
- Contact information including your name, telephone number, and email address
- Medical, health, fitness and lifestyle information that you enter, which could be sensitive
- Your device ID(s), user ID, and your location if you initiate a search for a nearby pharmacy or other service
- Your usage statistics, including in-app search history, performance analytics, and other diagnostics
We use your Personal Information to:
- Provide, analyze, and improve Services
- To communicate with you, including specific promotions or advertisements that come from us
We use Personal Information and other data in general to:
- Protect the security and safety of our company, employees, and users as is permitted by laws and regulations
- Comply with relevant laws and regulations
- Fulfill our non-profit mission of unlocking scientific discoveries from big data, and making those discoveries publicly available for the benefit of all
As part of providing Services, we use third party technology partners who may process, store, or access to Personal Information as needed in the course of providing technology services.
You may independently decide to share your information with others using features of Services or otherwise. You also agree that any authorized users of your account may act on your behalf to share your information; and you authorize emergency responders to access your information as reasonably judged necessary for your health and safety.
(1) From your Profile page, select "Delete Account", or email support@medikinect.org to request an account deletion.
(2) Your account will be immediately unavailable and queued for permanent deletion. Within 30 days you may request that your account be reinstated; after 30 days, however, your account and associated data will be permanently deleted, with the following exceptions:
- your activity that is still part of the activity of other active users, forums, or support interactions; for example: in-app text exchanges with others, your posts on forums, your support emails / exchanges
- data collected from your use of the app for performance improvements
- anonymized statistics combined into data sets for analysis consistent with our mission
(1) Using reasonable measures to keep your Personal Information secure
(2) Never sharing your Personal Information for profit or using it for any purpose other than to fulfill our non-profit mission
(3) Building a data set that will help unlock scientific discoveries which will inform and benefit the public
By using the MediKinect Services, you agree to this Privacy Statement, and you consent that your information will be used by MediKinect as described herein.
